U of R Students, Staff, Faculty and Alumni Teambuilding Event

Event is on March 17, 2010 from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm

This date is reserved for a team building experience with University of Richmond students, alumni, staff and faculty.  Please review our volunteer calendar and choose a date open to the public.  Please call the volunteer hotline at (804) 358-5899 the morning of your scheduled volunteer appearance to check site closures.  If you have any questions please contact Julie Gordon at julie@richmondhabitat.org.

Hot Line: In the event of inclement weather, please call 804-358-5899 by 7:30 a.m. the day of the build to learn if the build has been cancelled that day.

Transportation: Volunteers are encouraged to ride the CCE shuttle to the build site, as parking is very limited. The shuttle will leave promptly at 8:00 a.m. from the sunken parking lot located behind the Commons and adjacent to the power plant. It will pick up volunteers at the build site at 3:00 p.m. and return to campus by 3:30 p.m. To register for the van, email Debbie Collins at dcollins@richmond.edu. You must register for the shuttle by 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday of the week you will work at the build. Shuttle seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Lunch: The CCE will provide lunch daily. Volunteers are asked to bring their own drinks if they want something other than water. Volunteers should eat breakfast before coming to the build and may want to bring their own additional snacks. Volunteers who would like a vegetarian lunch should email their request to buildit@richmond.edu prior to 12:01 a.m. Tuesday of the week they are scheduled to work on the build site.

Weekly dinner meetings: The UR Chapter of Habitat has reserved the glass-enclosed meeting room in the Heilman Dining Center from 6-7:30 p.m. every Friday from Feb. 19 - April 2. Volunteers who want to learn more before volunteering on the build site are encouraged to swipe their Spider Card to get a meal and then join the group.

Registration: Volunteers must register before 12:01 a.m. Tuesday if they want to work on the build that week.
