Providing Affordable Homes on the Open Market

At Richmond Habitat, we know how challenging it can be to find an affordable home in our community. To help, we build and offer reasonably priced homes to families and individuals who qualify for their own mortgage, and fit certain income qualifications (currently 80% of the Area Median Income or less).

We acquire existing properties in the greater Richmond region and oten work in partnerships, like with the Maggie Walker Community Land Trust, para vender estas viviendas y garantizar que sigan siendo asequibles en los próximos años.

Selling Affordable Homes in Richmond

We rehabilitated six homes in a neighborhood and sold them affordably to homeowners who qualified for a traditional mortgage, but still met our income guidelines. Some of theses homes were purchased in partnership with the Maggie Walker Community Land Trust, keeping them affordable in perpetuity.
