Annual Meeting and Appreciation Event

On Thursday, October 3rd, we held Richmond Habitat’s Annual Meeting and Appreciation Event. Our staff, board and committee members, volunteers, and community partners celebrated our collective accomplishments over the past year.

FY2024 Impact

From July 2023 – June 2024, we served a total of 52 families! We completed 15 Habitat homes and sold them affordably to Habitat homeowners through our Homeownership Program as well as on the open market through our Neighborhood Revitalization Program. Our Critical Home Repair program provided 214 repairs to 33 homeowners in Richmond, Henrico, and Chesterfield. We served  2 families through our  Affordable Rental Program and 2 international families through our tithe to Habitat for Humanity International. The overall Average Area Median Income (AMI) served through programs was 47%, which equals $41,501 for a family of two.

We also had a great year for volunteers at our build sites, ReStores, and special events! We had 2,189 volunteers fill 6,063 shifts for a total of 34,061 hours. Our dedicated weekday crews continue to show up for Richmond Habitat with our Build Weekday Crew contributing 8,186 hours and our ReStore Weekday Crew contributing 2,285 hours. A special shout-out to our committee members and board who volunteer their talents and expertise to help us succeed!
Thanks to generous in-kind donors, our ReStores made 2,111 donation pickups helping to divert 2.9 million pounds of useable materials from landfills! We had 50,000 customers purchase 163,000 items, helping us keep the cost of homeownership affordable for Habitat families.
