How You Can Help Your Community

We help as many families as we can, but the lack of affordable, safe housing remains a critical problem in our area. Your monetary donations and gifts in kind of goods and services enable us to continue our mission of breaking the cycle of poverty by providing affordable homes.  At the Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity, there are several ways you can donate to help your community.

Sponsor a Build!

Sponsor a Build!

One of the most impactful ways a company, place of worship, or civic group can get involved with Habitat is to help sponsor a build! Sponsoring a build not only helps Habitat, but secures each group opportunities to build on site. For more information on how to sponsor a build, contact Jennifer O’Rourke at jorourke@richmondhabitat.org or 804-232-7001 ext. 110.

Property Donations

Property Donations

With the cost of property soaring in the Richmond Metro area, one of the greatest gifts we can receive is property. Without property, we cannot build homes. If you have a property in the City of Richmond, Chesterfield, or Henrico Counties that you are interested in putting to good use, consider donating to Richmond Habitat! For more information on donating properties, please contact Jennifer O’Rourke at jorourke@richmondhabitat.org or 804-232-7001 ext. 110.

Matching Gifts

Matching Gifts

Many employers will match tax-deductible charitable donations made by their employees, retirees and employees’ spouses. Some companies even provide matching funds to support employee volunteer hours. To find out if your company has a matching gift program, ask your supervisor or HR department.

Donate Materials or Labor to Help Us Build

Donate Materials or Labor to Help Us Build

The cost of building materials is always our biggest expense! Help us cut our costs by donating new building materials, appliances, and more! For more information on donating in-kind construction materials or labor, contact Ann Coble at acoble@richmondhabitat.org or 804-232-7001 ext. 114.

Donate Gently Used Items to Our ReStores

Donate Gently Used Items to Our ReStores

Our ReStores are one of our biggest sources of revenue. Proceeds from the ReStores help us cover our overhead expenses so that every donation can go directly towards building homes. Cause Marketing Partnerships

Cause Marketing Partnerships

Many brands and businesses raise money for nonprofits by holding special sales or product promotions and then donating a portion of the proceeds to the organization. We are open to discussing these potential partnership opportunities. Opportunities must be mutually beneficial to both parties and must align with our values. For more information, contact Jennifer O’Rourke at jorourke@richmondhabitat.org or 804-232-7001 ext. 110.

Jones Realty & Construction Corporation Donates Six Properties to Help Build Habitat Homes

Jones Realty and Construction Corporation donated six properties to support Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity’s efforts to increase affordable homeownership opportunities in the Greater Richmond area.

“Jones Realty and Construction Corporation is pleased that Richmond Metro Habitat for Humanity is able to take these properties and use them in a positive manner,” said Clarke Jones, owner of Jones Realty and Construction Corporation. “The Jones family has spent nearly a century in real estate and construction building relationships and businesses in metro Richmond and are humbled to be able to give back to the community in this way.  It feels like a small gesture in comparison to the work that Habitat does on a daily basis.”
