Pride Build

Let’s Build!

Our 2025 PRIDE Build will begin in the summer. Our build sites are user-friendly and led by professionals that patiently train and guide volunteers through all phases of construction. You will come away from your build experience feeling empowered with new skills – knowing you brought a Habitat partner family one step closer to achieving their dream of homeownership. Stay tuned to volunteer opportunities at the construction site by visiting richmondhabitat.org/volunteer.

2025 Sponsor Information

Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity has worked to achieve its vision through partnerships with businesses, foundations, faith and civic organizations, individual donors and volunteers. All these work to help us defray the cost of homes through donated materials, labor, construction and funds for land and infrastructure. Our PRIDE Build continues this work through partnerships that further our mission due to their commitment to diversity and leadership in our community in supporting the needs of affordable housing for all.

Sponsorship includes recognition on our website, build-site banner and signage at PRIDE Build events. Sponsor volunteer participants receive PRIDE Build t-shirts (with logos) and lunch on site the day of their build experience. Group days have space for eight participants with opportunity to increase the group to 16 per day. Sponsorship levels are:

Our Pride is Growing

At Habitat, we believe everyone deserves a decent place to live. In 2025, Richmond Habitat proudly continues the PRIDE Build which began in 2023.  In the last two years, the program has grown to the largest LGBTQIA+ volunteer event in central Virginia.  In that time, there were:

  • 25 sponsors
  • 500+ volunteers
  • 68 build days
  • 3 homes completed

We invite members of the LGBTQ+ community and their allies to help us build again. Habitat’s PRIDE Build focuses on our hope to create an inclusive Richmond community where every individual and family has the opportunity to obtain fair and equitable housing – and where LGBTQ+ individuals and their allies know they are welcome to volunteer and build our community.

In conducting a PRIDE Build, we join dozens of Habitat for Humanity affiliates across the U.S. who have added this program as a fun way for members and supporters of LGBTQ+ communities to come together to celebrate diversity in our region, learn new skills and make an important statement about the fundamental human right of a safe, decent, affordable place to live for everyone.

Help Revitalize the Richmond Community, Today

We help as many families as we can, but the lack of affordable, safe housing remains a critical problem in our area. Habitat for Humanity in the Richmond Metropolitan area is committed to making affordable and safe housing a reality for low-income families. And with the help of donations, volunteers, proceeds from our ReStore, and hard work from our home buyers, we’re making that dream possible for hundreds of residents in the Richmond Metropolitan area.
