Governor-Elect Youngkin Visits Richmond Habitat Build Site

Governor-Elect Youngkin Visits Richmond Habitat Build Site

On Tuesday, December 21st, we were joined by Governor-Elect Glenn Youngkin, Delegate Dawn Adams, and Delegate Carrie Coyner on one of our construction sites in the City of Richmond.

During that time, we gave them a tour of the two homes we are building through our Women Build initiative and discussed with them the importance of increasing funding to the Affordable Housing Trust Fund, which provides much needed funding to assist housing organizations with construction costs.

At the end of the tour, the Governor-Elect and both Delegates picked up some power tools and helped us put the finishing touches on one of the porches. This was not Governor Youngkin’s first time volunteering with Habitat – he has volunteered through his company to build homes in Northern Virginia as well.

Thank you to Rachel Leppert, Deputy Digital Director for Governor-Elect Youngkin, for taking and sharing these incredible photos with us!
