Richmond’s Neighborhood Revitalization Program

At Richmond Habitat, we know how challenging it can be to find an affordable home in our community. To help, our Neighborhood Revitalization program is designed to offer reasonably priced homes to families and individuals who qualify for their own mortgage, and fit certain income qualifications (currently 80% Area Median Income or less).

We acquire existing properties in the greater Richmond region and work in partnership with the Maggie Walker Community Land Trust to sell these homes and ensure they remain affordable for years to come.

Here are some examples of homes we’ve sold through this program:

Neighborhood Revitalization Homeowners

We are working to rehabilitate six of the homes for qualified Habitat for Humanity homeowners who will pay an affordable mortgage. The homes will be sold through Habitat’s Neighborhood Revitalization Program to homeowners who qualify for a traditional mortgage, but still meet our income guidelines.  Some of the homes sold through our Neighborhood Revitalization Program will also be purchased in partnership with the Maggie Walker Community Land Trust, keeping them affordable in perpetuity.

Help Revitalize the Richmond Community, Today

We help as many families as we can, but the lack of affordable, safe housing remains a critical problem in our area. Habitat for Humanity in the Richmond Metropolitan area is committed to making affordable and safe housing a reality for low-income families. And with the help of donations, volunteers, proceeds from our ReStore, and hard work from our home buyers, we’re making that dream possible for hundreds of residents in the Richmond Metropolitan area.
