1. How many years have you been volunteering with Richmond Habitat?
I have been volunteering at the Chesterfield Restore for about two years, typically two days per week. I have done some builds in the past as well.
2. What type of volunteer roles have you had?
I do a little bit of everything. I work closely with staff and volunteers with procurement and pricing of donations. I assist with staging of the donated merchandise in the showroom. I run the cash registers when needed. I work on the sales floor assisting customers. I do special projects directed by management.
3. What have you enjoyed most about your volunteer experiences with Richmond Habitat?
I especially like working with all of the wonderful people at the Restore. Everyone, including management, brings something unique and enlightening to the environment, even if we disagree on a process!
I love helping the customers as well, whether it’s with their donations and the stories surrounding them, or on the sales floor, helping them find that special item.
I love knowing that what we do, no matter how small, is helping others better their lives.
