Andy Nea and Willliams Mullen Provide Pro Bono Legal Services to Richmond Habitat
Andy Nea has been blessed with a long and rewarding legal career. Following a two-year appointment as law clerk to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, he spent his entire career at the law firm Williams Mullen. In his time at Williams Mullen, he served as the Chair of the Real Estate/Finance group and retired on April Fool’s Day 2007 – a retirement date he found fitting.
From an early age, Andy was taught that it is more important to give than to receive. After many years of receiving, he decided he wanted to start giving back to others. Before retiring, Andy considered providing pro bono legal services to several nonprofits. After much consideration, he decided Richmond Habitat was a good match for his ideals and his skills. He really connected to Richmond Habitat’s mission to provide safe, decent, and affordable housing.
Andy has now been providing pro bono legal services to Richmond Habitat since April of 2007. What keeps him coming back is the people. “Richmond Habitat has a wonderful group of talented, dedicated individuals who want and are making a difference in people’s lives,” says Andy, “I am privileged to be a part of the team.”
Andy also takes time to enjoy the outdoors during his retirement. He has travelled far and wide on fishing trips. According to Andy, “Fish’n is much easier than Catch’n!”
We thank Andy and Williams Mullen for all that they have done for us over these past 14 years. In FY21 alone, Andy and Williams Mullen provided $150,471 in pro bono legal services, truly incredible!
“We are very fortunate to have access to such a skilled committed group of attorneys under Andy’s leadership,” says Mary Kay Huss, CEO of Richmond Habitat, “Time and time again he has kept us on the right track in the surprisingly complex nonprofit business.”
