Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity offers home repair services so homeowners can continue to live safely in their homes for years to come.  Our program is available to homeowners who own and occupy their homes in the City of Richmond, Chesterfield County, and Henrico County .

Types of Repairs

Habitat’s Home Repair Program serves a crucial purpose: to tackle vital health and safety issues within our clients’ homes. Qualified homeowners can receive a range of interior and exterior repairs. These include critical repairs like roof repairs, electrical system upgrades, plumbing replacements, window replacements, and accessibility modifications such as ramps, grab bars, and kitchen and bath adjustments. 

Qualifications

  • Own and live in your home
  • Have homeowners insurance
  • Not be at risk for foreclosure
  • Other locality specific requirements (ex. utilities are current)
  • Completed application with all supporting documentation
  • Must not exceed maximum household income based on household size (see chart below)

Revitalizing a Historic Home in Church Hill

We were able to use Historic Tax Credits to help us rehab this home, and sold it through the Maggie Walker Community Land Trust in order to ensure that it remains affordable for years to come!

We help as many families as we can, but the lack of affordable, safe housing remains a critical problem in our area. Habitat for Humanity in the Richmond Metropolitan area is committed to making affordable and safe housing a reality for low-income families. And with the help of donations, volunteers, proceeds from our ReStore, and hard work from our home buyers, we’re making that dream possible for hundreds of residents in the Richmond Metropolitan area.
