Why did you choose to join the Habitat Board?

I really enjoy working on this professional Board and with a very talented staff which possess a diversity of skills to advance our mission of sponsoring affordable housing in our community. I appreciate the unique model of having volunteers working side by side with the home prospective home owner erecting the house. The Habitat for Humanity mission transforms lives by promoting a long-term sense of pride, an opportunity for financial security and generational wealth, all leading to improving our community.

What’s unique about being part of Habitat?

I feel like I am a part of a great mission which offers affordable shelter to those who otherwise would not have that opportunity.

Which Habitat value resonates most with you the most and why?

Equity. It is that opportunity for those who have never owned and thought they would never own a house, to now have that opportunity to purchase and begin development of long-term security. This is truly a transformational event in the lives of the new homeowners.
