Welcome Home Patrice!

Welcome Home Patrice!

On Saturday April 17th, Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity welcomed Patrice to her new home in the Randolph neighborhood in the City of Richmond.

Patrice has dedicated her last several years to helping people in her neighborhood become healthy and self-sufficient, working with the Virginia Department of Health as a resource specialist. Living in one of the local public housing developments, Hillside Court, Patrice helps her neighbors navigate the resources they need to take care of themselves.

Patrice is also an active member of two of Mayor Stoney’s taskforces: The Taskforce to Reimagine Public Safety and the Eviction Taskforce. Mayor Stoney and Councilwoman Stephanie Lynch even attended to say congratulations!

Patrice found out about Richmond Habitat’s Homeownership Program through a partnership meeting between the Virginia Department of Health and Richmond Habitat. She’d always wanted to own her own home and have a place to pass on to her children. She looked more into the program and decided this might be a way to make that dream possible. Patrice took a chance, applied and was accepted.

Once she becomes a homeowner, Patrice has visions of helping others in Hillside Court become homeowners as well. “This will be another thing that I can push my community members to do after I finish. I can get them to start making this a goal,” says Patrice, “Thank you for your help & support.”
